Streetscape planners lose some federal funding, still hopeful

Leadership for the first phase of the Village Streetscape plan, a multi-year, multi-million dollar effort by the La Jolla Community Foundation to overhaul and improve Girard Avenue from Prospect to Silverado streets is seeking donations and grant monies to make up for the loss of a previously-secured, $1 million federal grant.

The loss of the grant means construction will likely not begin in September and will be delayed again until January.
